What is non-surgical rhinoplasty?
Non-surgical rhinoplasty — commonly called "nose filler" — uses precisely placed hyaluronic acid filler to reshape the contour of the nose. It can lift a downward-pointing tip, smooth a dorsal hump, balance asymmetry, or refine the projection of the bridge. It is performed by a doctor in 45 minutes, with no general anaesthetic, no surgical recovery, and no permanent change.
It is the treatment Aesthetic Skin Cells is best known for. We have performed thousands.
How it works
A small volume of hyaluronic acid filler is placed at specific anatomical points along the dorsum and tip of the nose using fine needle or blunt-tip cannula. The placement is precise to within a millimetre — the nose is one of the highest-stakes anatomical areas in aesthetic medicine, and the consequences of imprecise placement (vascular occlusion, prolonged swelling, asymmetry) are real. This is why we will only perform it doctor-led.
Who it's for
Clients who would like the appearance of their nose adjusted but do not want surgery. Most often: smoothing a small bump on the bridge, lifting a tip that points slightly downward, or balancing minor asymmetry. The treatment is reversible if you change your mind.
It is not appropriate for: significant size reduction (you cannot make a nose smaller with filler), severe deviation, or breathing-related concerns. For those, we will refer to a respected surgical rhinoplasty colleague.
The Lumara protocol
Consultation is a full 30 minutes — anatomical assessment, discussion of what you want, photographs in standard lighting, agreement on the plan. We always start conservatively — non-surgical rhinoplasty is one of the treatments where less, more carefully placed, is dramatically more effective than more.
We carry the full vascular occlusion protocol — including hyaluronidase — on every nose-filler appointment. This is non-negotiable for any clinic performing this procedure; ask any clinic anywhere whether they carry it before booking.
Aftercare
Mild swelling at the bridge for 24–48 hours; mild bruising possible. Avoid pressing on the nose, glasses, or saunas for 48 hours. The final shape settles around two weeks after the procedure.
Frequently asked
Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty, in plain English.
Will it really look natural?
Yes — if it's done conservatively and to the right anatomical plan. The most common result is a nose that looks like the same nose, slightly more refined. The thing people will say is that you look well-rested.
Is it reversible?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler is fully reversible with hyaluronidase. If you don't like the result, or if there is any concern, we can dissolve it.
How long does it last?
Typically 12–18 months. The nose tends to be a slow-metabolising area, so results often last longer than face filler.
Can it make my nose smaller?
No. Filler adds volume — it cannot remove tissue. What it can do is change the perceived size by smoothing the dorsum, lifting the tip, or rebalancing the proportions. For actual size reduction, you need surgical rhinoplasty.
Is it safe?
In trained hands, with the right precautions, yes. The nose is anatomically high-stakes — the nasal blood supply is delicate and the consequences of imprecise placement are real. This is why we will only perform it doctor-led, why every nose-filler appointment includes the vascular occlusion protocol, and why we recommend you only ever have this treatment at a clinic that can demonstrate both. Ask before booking — anywhere.
What if I want surgical rhinoplasty later?
Filler does not prevent later surgery, but it should ideally be fully dissolved before surgical planning. We are happy to dissolve if you decide to pursue surgery; we can also recommend respected surgical colleagues.
